Is This FINALLY The End of TikTok? The Latest Update!
Hey Creators, It looks like TikTok's days are numbered and the clock is ticking down without a solution for the viral short-form platform. Today we will be discussing why Creators NEED to be platform agnostic to survive and thrive going forward. And how you can build your audience on any platform starting from 0. If you specifically want to STAND OUT on YouTube this year and stop struggling to grow, you need to watch my recent video on this. My BEST FREE WORKSHOPS on Becoming a Full-time Creator
How to Grow Your Audience Starting from 0 and STAND OUT in a Saturated NicheThe ultimate goal of any content creator is to build a loyal audience that supports them and shows up for them. Many creators feel it's too late for them because they are in saturated niches where they don't have first mover advantage or even early mover advantage. This is particularly true in low barrier to entry niches like, sketch comedy, gaming, and vlogging, where other creators have gotten massive views, but where new creators struggle to compete. The HARSH truth of the matter is, that most new creators don't being enough to the table to win the attention of the audience. That doesn't mean "don't bother" or just do another niche, it means that you would have to demonstrate value that is uncommon, and that is not accessible to the bottom 90% of other creators you would have to compete with. The appeal of many of the niches tend to struggle the most, is because of their low barrier to entry and the lack of a need for expensive resources or fancy editing techniques in order to execute. The problem is that makes them "saturated" with low quality content, that drives the viewers away from giving a new creator or a smaller creator a chance, and they go where they know reliable quality and consistency exist. This is why so many creators rely on trends, or first mover or early mover advantage to break out of obscurity, and to stop posting to the void. But it fails to address the real issue. "If you want to stand out in an unsaturated niche, make the value of your content undeniable, and unavoidable." In order to attract an audience, you have to put something in front of them that is impossible to ignore at a glance, and once they click on it, the content experience should be something they can't help sharing and talking about. If you want to grow an audience from zero, then being able to lead with value that is too good to ignore, and too good to not share is the key to organic growth, and building a fan base that pushes you even when the algorithm doesn't. The majority of people pursuing "EASY MODE" will fail to achieve this. Your best opportunity is high-effort, high value content, that delivers a high-quality experience, consistently. This does not have to require money, but it will require more time and skill at every level of the content journey. It also will likely mean having to meet the audience where they are, because it's unlikely to work for a topic or idea, that doesn't already have demand. I highly recommend using 1of10 to research and validate your content ideas.
TikTok's Final Moments in the U.S.As of 330 PM ET, Friday Jan 17, 2025, no buying agreement has been reach to save TikTok from legislation that would ban the popular social media app in the United States. With over 100M users, primarily Gen Z and Millennials, both Creators and users are still in denial that the app will actually be banned. Currently TikTok has made it clear they intended to Shutdown operations and access in the U.S. on January 19th to comply with lawmakers, and they have made it clear they don't intend to sell or divest to an American company. President Elect Trump and his on-coming administration have made overtures about saving TikTok, but given the recent Supreme Court ruling upholding the law that institutes the ban, it doesn't seem as though there are many legal options to pursue. What Creators NEED to Do To Protect Themselves and Keep Access to their Communities:
Whether a full ban for TikTok materializes or not, creators should be taking these steps to protect their income and secure the access and relationship with their community, instead of being at the mercy of a platform policy or government regulation. It often seems to be the case, that a platform has to fully shutdown like Vine did, with Creators being directly impacted, before they are willing to make a drastic change.
Why You NEED To Be Platform Agnostic in 2025 to Thrive as a CreatorPlatforms change their algorithms, their policies, or sometimes like with Vine, Vessel, and Omegelle, they die off all-together, leaving their creators with regrets and anxiety about their future, and agonizing over one simple mistake... "Why didn't I just publish and grow an audience on multiple platforms?" There once was a time, when building as a solo-creator without a team made it impossible or agonizing to be on more than one platform, and it became important to prioritize and focus on just one. But this isn't 2016, and it's not even 2020. It is now 2025 and there are so many tools and resources for repurposing content with AI and Automation, so many scheduling tools and things like multi-streaming, that it makes very little sense not to be on each of the major platforms to some degree. With tools like Streamyard, streaming across multiple platforms and consolidating the chat for your audience has never been simpler. With OpusClip, posting short-form to every vertical video platform or even creating vertical videos from your existing ones, has been reduced to a few clicks. At this point being on multiple platforms whenever you create content or stream, would likely only add 15-30 minutes more to your work day, at best, while allowing you to access no less than 3 additional platforms at a time. The importance of being on multiple platforms at once is that it not only gives you an opportunity to meet the audience where they are, but in the worst case scenario you are already established somewhere else if the audience no longer wants to use a certain platform or that platform becomes unavailable to you, or to them. This also increases your opportunities for monetization and for sponsored content by being platform agnostic. Platforms don't directly reward loyalty for exclusivity (unless you have a contract), so there is no real benefit to a creator not meeting the audience where they are, on any platform they prefer. Being platform agnostic allows you to get the maximum reward and benefit for the content you already have made.
