2025 Is a Brave New World For Creators

The world of Content Creation is always shifting and change is the only real constant. Here are some predictions and opportunities you can take advantage of in 2025 and beyond!

Faceless YouTube Channels Will Explode in 2025

This prediction isn't just based on a popular trend, but on a huge change that YouTube itself is making that will give these types of channels an advantage.

In addition to AI tools making content more affordable and faster to produce at higher quality, Faceless channels will see an advantage due to YouTube introducing Auto Dubbing and releasing this feature for FREE to all YouTubers.

If you're not familiar with it, YouTube will be using AI Multi-language Audio to automatically Dub your content into other languages, as well as other languages into English.

This will truly change YouTube as we know it and expose new audiences to content that was never accessible to them before.

So why do Faceless channels specifically benefit?

Well channels that don't have to worry about awkward lip-syncing or whether a voice matches the talent on camera or their mannerisms, will have more of a seamless integration with this feature and thus a much broader overall audience that can watch a video from beginning to end, without being turned-off.

This also can extend videos longevity, as they can have a longer shelf life, by reaching new audiences across countries and cultures, with almost no barriers.

Video Podasting is Going to Take the Internet By Storm

In 2024 we saw what people are calling the "Podcast Election" and it's impact is going to be felt in the Creator Economy for at least the next 4 if not 8 years going forward.

Not only will you see more Creators, including new and established Creators pursuing Podcasting and Streaming, but you will also see more companies spending dollars to sponsor them, and new tools emerging to support them.

Podcasting is about to see a revolution like never before and not be a niche corner of the internet, but is already eating mainstream media for lunch, and accelerating their decline in relevancy, and very soon, taking their literal "lunch money" in advertising dollars.

My INSIDERS Take on AI Content Creation in 2025

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly or AI in Content Creation

How Can Creators Embrace the Future of AI Responsibly?

Many content creators fear that Social Media but especially YouTube will be overwhelmed by "AI-Slop" in 2025. The primary complaint being that it will lower the quality of content published to YouTube and there will be an abundance of poor content on the platform.

I have a contrarian take on this, I actually think if this plays out as described that authentic content creators who are making genuinely good and high effort content would stand out and get even more attention by comparison.

While there will be some channels that regrettably blow up from low effort consumer content, they will never reach the heights of content creators who make difficult to duplicate content.

That being said it's not all bad. AI creation tools will increase accessibility for both creators and there will benefits to consumers as well. AI Auto Dubbing from YouTube will allow creators from around the world to have access to a Western audience and higher ad-revenue, while Western creators will benefit from increased reach and engagement.

This will also encourage more creators to provide accurate closed captioning, something that AI tools are making more affordable with each passing year.

The enhancements in AI video editing tools like Descript are also helping Creators overcome technical issues and increase the speed of their workflow from idea to execution.

Tools like OpusClip are also adding practical features such as AI Audio Clean Up to help improve the actual quality of content as well. That's on top of the fact their "Clip Anything Tool" can actually use AI to search for sections you want across hours of video footage in seconds if not minutes. These are all positive things coming from AI.

The primary negative feelings around AI for most people in creator world, come from a debate of the concept of "art theft" which predates AI by decades. And while there are some valid points of concern there, in the way that the majority of content creators utilize AI generated images there is less art theft and IP theft than there is being done in the majority of the fan art community. While this is unpopular to say, from a legal standpoint its absolutely true, as the majority of art theft that would take place with AI tools would be unlike to steal from relatively unknown independent artists, but would steal styles from well established IP holders such as Marvel, Disney and Warner.

High quality content will always have pride of place when it comes to YouTube specifically. It may play out differently with other platforms, but by the numbers, AI content hasn't produced anything competitive with the largest creators.

If anything there is an argument to be made that it would be harder for working class creators, still learning their craft to compete with well executed AI content that is made to be very easy to consume for casual viewing audiences.

It also seems the primary rejection of AI content is more Western based, and that AI is accepted more favorably abroad. When combined with the expansion of Auto Dubbing on YouTube, it's truly a brave new world, and we will have to see how it all plays out.
